Yasmin combines 30 mcg of ethinylestradiol with drospirenone (A progestin used in Yaz, Yasmin and their same-formula brands.), a progestin different from the levonorgestrel in Trust (levonorgestrel + ethinylestradiol). Bayer makes it, and it is the higher-estrogen sibling of Yaz (drospirenone 3 mg + ethinylestradiol 20 mcg): same progestin, more estrogen, and a classic 21 plus 7 schedule instead of Yaz's 24 plus 4.
Finding Yasmin is the hard part. Watsons listed no Yasmin items when we checked, and the only price we have is ₱905.75 from a September 2023 theAsianParent report that did not name the retailer.[TODO: source: theAsianParent Sep 2023 Yasmin price report] Treat that as a rough guide, not today's price.
If your pharmacy cannot get it, two brands have exactly the same active ingredients and dose in the same 21-tablet pack: Erin, from ₱700 at Rose Pharmacy, and Liza, from ₱786.75.[src][src] Our research does not name their makers. Travellers who know Yasmin from abroad can compare on pill equivalents.

How to take Yasmin
Take one tablet a day at about the same time for 21 days, following the arrows. Then take no tablets for 7 days; your withdrawal bleed (The bleed during the inactive or break days of a pill pack. It is not a true period.) usually comes in the break. Start the next strip on day 8 even if you are still bleeding. There are no inactive tablets, so the break is counted on the calendar. A late restart makes the hormone-free gap longer, which WHO treats like missed pills.[src]
When to start: the WHO handbook says you can start a combined pill within the first 5 days of your period with no extra protection, or any other day if you are reasonably sure you are not pregnant, using condoms for the first 7 days.[src] If you are switching to Liza or Erin because Yasmin is out of stock, ask your pharmacist how to keep the 7-day break exact.
If you miss a Yasmin pill
Yasmin is a 30 to 35 mcg combined pill. If you miss 1 or 2 hormone pills, take one as soon as you remember and carry on: WHO says there is little or no risk of pregnancy. If you miss 3 or more in a row, take one now, use condoms for 7 days, and if it happened in the last hormone week, skip the break or inactive pills and start a new pack.
If you had sex in the last 5 days and missed pills, talk to a doctor today about emergency options. If unsure, talk to a doctor or pharmacist.
Open the Missed Pill HelperYasmin side effects and what Filipinas worry about
In the first 3 months some people get spotting, sore breasts, nausea, headaches or mood changes, which usually settle.[src] Mood comes up often in Filipina threads about drospirenone pills. If low mood or irritability lasts beyond about 3 months, a different formula is a normal next step with your doctor. If you have thoughts of self-harm, get help now.
Like every combined pill, Yasmin carries a small risk of blood clots. It is not for smokers 35 and over, people with migraine with aura, a past clot or high blood pressure.[src] Chest pain, a swollen painful leg or sudden breathlessness need emergency care.
Nakakataba ba ang Yasmin?
The evidence says no large effect. A Cochrane review of placebo-controlled trials found no large weight change from combined pills,[src] and the NHS says there is no evidence the pill makes you put on weight.[src] Early bloating happens to some and usually settles. Basahin sa Taglish.
Nakakataba ba ang pills?Do pills make you gain weight?
Reviews of placebo-controlled trials have not found a large effect of combined pills on weight. Some people notice bloating or a bigger appetite in the first months, which usually settles. Weight changes over time with or without pills, which is why only controlled trials can answer this. The injectable (DMPA) is the one method with evidence of weight gain in some users.
