Your needs
Birth control on a budget
Quick answer
The cheapest birth control is free: pills, injectables, implants, IUDs and condoms are free at barangay health centers, RHUs and DOH hospitals, subject to supply. If you buy pills, Lady starts at ₱53.25 a pack and Trust at ₱59.50. For pricier pills, a same-formula brand can cost much less.
Start with free
DOH says IUDs, implants, condoms, combined pills and progestin-only pills are free at DOH hospitals, barangay health centers and RHUs [src]. PhilHealth is not required; bring an ID [src]. Likhaan also offers free pills, IUDs and implants [src]. See free birth control near you.
Cheapest over time
A free implant or IUD costs nothing for years. Even a private implant from ₱5,000 works out to a low monthly cost over 3 years. Use the cost calculator to compare methods over a year or more.
Low-cost pills
- Lady (levonorgestrel + ethinylestradiol): from ₱53.25
- Trust (levonorgestrel + ethinylestradiol, with iron tablets): from ₱59.50
- Charlize (levonorgestrel + ethinylestradiol, with iron tablets): from ₱73
- Daphne (lynestrenol), a progestin-only option: from ₱161
Same formula, lower price
If your doctor prescribed a pricier brand, ask whether a same-formula brand is fine. Cybelle (cyproterone acetate + ethinylestradiol, from ₱525) has the same formula as Diane-35 (from ₱695.75), and Lizelle (drospirenone + ethinylestradiol, from ₱815) the same as Yaz (from ₱889) [src]. See same formula, lower price and the full price list.
